Many of the ghosts in this mini series are disabled, and this disability is intentionally used to make them scarier. There’s “bent neck lady” that torments the children for years. There’s the violent man with a cane. There’s the boy who uses a wheelchair, and the main woman who has tuberculosis. This tuberculosis is used as reasoning for her being cheated on and becoming evil. The creators of this show went out of their way to make disabled characters, and even further to make all of them the monster. However, they gave so few details and so little character development that there is hardly anything to discuss except to note their blatantly ableist choices.
